Intimar es quitarle la etiqueta de «desconocido» a alguien, eliminar la barrera entre lo que permites que el resto del mundo vea y lo que te permites ser en territorio conocido. Es permitirle a alguien entrar al baño mientras cambias tu copa menstrual y parece que cometiste un asesinato dentro, andar frente a alguien con nada más que tus calzoncillos viejos de la adolescencia, probablemente rotos y desgastados, pero aún los más cómodos.
To intimate it to remove the «stranger» label from someone. To erase that barrier between what you let the world to see and what you allow yourself in your known boundaries. It is to allow someone to use the bathroom while you remove your menstrual cup and make a bloody mess murder scene-like. It implies also not caring walking in front of someone while using nothing but your old worn-out teenager underpants, because they’re the most comfortable.
Nadar desnudo en un lago en que, por cuestiones de higiene, quizá no deberías estar nadando, pero, ¿qué importa? Dejar observar los poros, la cicatrices e imperfecciones en tu piel muy de cerca, sin pinceles de Photoshop ni filtros de Instagram. No sólo las cicatrices sobre la piel, también las que se esconden debajo de ella, entre tus intestinos y tu memoria.
Feels like swimming naked in a not so hygienic pond where you probably shouldn’t, but who cares? You also let that person to observe the pores, scars and imperfections on your skin at close range, without Photoshop brushes or Instagram filters. And not only the scars in your skin, but that underneath it, those hidden in your guts and in your memory.

En esencia, Intimar es abrir puertas, estrechar vínculos, abrazar la confianza, soltar el miedo. Intimar tiene relación directa con la perspectiva; y mi favorita es la que permitas ver cuando te sientes seguro.
